Spooners Cove - San Luis Obispo - United States of America
Editar
Experienced Surfers ONLY! The Left at Spooners Cove is the best big-wave break on the central coast! It can hold size up to 20ft if the winds are right.
This wave is located on the SOUTH Point of Spooners Cove and breaks towards the inside of the cove.
Drive into Montana De Oro and stop once you get the Ranger Station and main campgrounds entrance. Pull over onto the grass parking at the top of the cliff that overlooks Spooners Cove and the beach.
All the locals park at the top. DO NOT park at the beach parking lot. You will be immediately pointed out as an outsider and an idiot.
The view from the parking area is awesome. You are able to see three surf spots from here. You can view Lonesomes off the North Point, A-Frames in the middle (but way outside) of the cove, and Spooners breaking off the South Point of the Cove.
Spooners is the premier big-wave spot for the locals and for experienced big-wave chargers only!
Park on the cliff, and get dressed up there. Walk down to the beach via staircase towards North side of Parking Area.
Paddle out in the middle of the cove and then start angling towards the South. Spooners breaks in front of the protruding rock-reef finger and peels in towards the cove.
